Why We Started

Wentwood Greens began with a simple love of healthy living, being close to nature and growing our own food.

After moving to this beautiful part of South Wales, we spent countless hours gardening, foraging and exploring the ancient woodlands of Wentwood Forest. We quickly fell in love not only with the landscape, but with the welcoming community around it.

Watching the seasons change and seeing nature flourish inspired us to grow more of our own food. Over time, that passion became something we wanted to share, and Wentwood Greens began.

Growing microgreens is incredibly rewarding. Every tray starts with a seed and is carefully nurtured through to harvest. There is something incredibly satisfying about watching that transformation happen and, even better, seeing something we have grown being enjoyed in someone else's kitchen.

Grown Beside Wentwood Forest

Our name comes from Wentwood Forest, the largest area of ancient woodland in Wales.

It quickly became part of our everyday life and, when it came to naming the business, Wentwood felt like the natural choice.

The forest is a reminder of where we are, why we started and the kind of business we want Wentwood Greens to become. Thoughtful, grounded and connected to the place around us.

Our Philosophy

From the beginning, we have wanted Wentwood Greens to develop in a way that feels right for the place we call home.

We use growing media that contains no peat, look for practical ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste, and aim to increase our use of certified organic seed as our range develops.

But being responsible is not only about what happens in the grow room. We also want to find meaningful ways to support and give something back to the local community that welcomed us.

Our long term ambition is to become increasingly self sufficient, reduce our environmental impact and produce as little waste as possible.
